Managed to spend a few hours on my newly acquired 2.4 T4 this evening. On reving it, it sounds bad with a lot of smoke from the exhaust. However, on pulling out the cold start lever which advances the timing a few degrees she runs and drives sweet as a nut with no smoke at all. My parents have a 2.4 AAB that has a what sounds like metallic knocking/tapping noise which is happening once every full rotation of the engine, so isn't continuous. The whole van also vibrates a lot under idle but when revving its fine. If I pull out the cold start lever it will stop vibrating but the noise is still there.

Tengo una t4 2.5 tdi 102 cv del 2000. 1)Lo primero buscar el lugar o manguito o algo lo más bajo posible por donde tirar el liquido viejo. Quité el cubrecarter porque sino no se ve nada por abajo.
