i dont remember clearly what i typed, but i named the wandering trader, give it a nametag, and then use a command block nearby to constantly set its DespawnDelay to 500, so that it will never reach 0 and despawn.
4 days ago · A baby (animal or villager) keeps its name when becoming an adult. A named villager keeps its name when transformed into a zombie villager. A named zombie villager keeps its name when cured. Wandering traders still despawn even if they are named, or in a minecart or boat. A named wither's boss bar displays its name instead of "Wither".
In the legacy console edition, zombie villagers no longer spawn from spawners because they have their own spawn egg. I'm not sure about java because despite zombie villagers being a seperate entity, there are no notes about not spawning from spawners. (this info was on the minecraft wiki btw) nervousmelon. I heard if I find a zombie and get it to pick up an item, then it won't despawn however I spent a long time dropping items while they chased me with no luck. They even had iron golems and cats that spawned in on their own. I spent about 3 in-game days building a fishery by a nearby river to be the career spot for fishermen villagers, and then when I went back to the center of my custom town, it's a ghost town. WBj3qnd.
