actually the original one is the best one. there are few other compatible speakers, but none of them have loud enough volume and total audio quality. i said "total" audio quality because GBA is using poor audio processor, so if you use very nice speaker with that poor processor, it makes worse(you can try with high-end earphone). original speaker emits only needed frequency and absorb others
It's also kind of an unfair comparison because the GBA SP has a much more complicated housing design with much more demanding molding technology compared to every other GB. That said, I love having the option available to me to recondition these things, especially since there are so many out there that were outright trashed by their owners.

The jack that the SP (and every other GB tbh) is designed to use a physical switch to detect insertion and removal of headphones.
